Reno, Nevada (CNN) — “Mass casualties” were reported at an air show after a plane slammed into the box seat area in front of a grandstand at the National Championship Air Races and Air Show in Reno on Friday, a spokesman for the show told CNN.
At least two people died and 54 people were transported from the scene with injuries, according to officials.
The pilot, identified as Jimmy Leeward, a real estate developer from Ocala, Florida, was likely killed in the crash, the show said in a statement. He was flying a P-51 Mustang. The event has been canceled and a memorial service will be held for the pilot Saturday afternoon, the show said.
A Reno hospital said Friday night on its website that it had received a “total of 25 patients” after the plane crashed. It said two people, one male and one female, had died.

German comedian Martin Sonneborn is well-known for jokes bordering on the tasteless. But a satirical political billboard of him posing in blackface makeup as US President Barack Obama is sparking outrage.
US ambassador laments ‘racist jerks’ in Germany - Society (8 Sep 11) “Ick bin ein Obama (I am an Obama),” reads the poster at Berlin’s central Ernst Reuter Platz square, in an apparent play on John F. Kennedy’s famous “Ich bin ein Berliner” speech. On the poster, a "black" Sonneborn smiles as he raises his arm in the air.
The billboard is the latest in Sonneborn’s campaign for his satirical political party Die Partei ahead of state elections in Berlin this Sunday.

This time he used his weekly radio address to push his American Jobs Act saying, "every one of you can help make it happen by telling your congressperson to pass this jobs bill right away." But he has yet to explain how his new plan can possibly work when virtually the same ideas at double the cost didn't work last time.
Mr. Obama is offering the same kind of temporary tax cuts, extremely targeted tax credits and employment subsidies that were contained in 2009's $800 billion stimulus bill. Then as now, he went into crisis-mode demanding swift passage of the bill to keep the national unemployment rate below 8% and get it down to 6% within months. It rose to over 9% and is still there with the underemployment rate, which includes those who have stopped looking for work, at 16.2%.

It has recently come to my attention that cell phones are profoundly changing the world in ways we may not realize. Kids are growing up learning the shorthand spellings of words commonly used in cellphone text messaging.
These misspellings are bleeding over into their non text messaging life. This is not good in my opinion. But this is a small thing compared to what is going on with kids in other parts of the world.
In countries where modern technology is common and the Latin alphabet is not traditionally used, kids are learning to text message their native language using a simplified Latin alphabet. I am talking about the middle east and south east asia specifically. Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, India, Iran...use complex alphabets and are not practical to use for text messaging
Vietnam uses a highly complex variation of the latin alphabet that cannot be utilized on most cell phones, if any. They are gradually dropping the complexities and using the simpler european latin alphabet.
I believe we are witnessing a gradual shift to the world wide use of the standard latin alphabet and it is all because of cell phone proliferation and the internet.............

“A statute intended to prevent unwarranted intrusions into a citizen’s privacy cannot be used as a shield for public officials who cannot assert a comparable right of privacy in their public duties,” the judge wrote in his decision dismissing the five counts of eavesdropping charges against defendant Michael Allison.

Also, I believe it is true that we all initially see all of those Marines who came before us as old corps; but later, after a few, or many, years our perception of that tends to narrow somewhat and we all decide to some degree just what the old corps means to us individually.
Our opinions are founded and shaped according to when we entered the Corps, our experiences, etc. And so our own perception of the Old Corps may become both similar and /or dissimilar to one another’s.
But it is that period of time between the world wars that I would choose for myself as that which best falls into the category of Old Corps–for me, anyway–and it is...............

He attributed it to a newspaper article from the Czech Republic Observer. I have so far been unable to find the actual article, though I have found a few references to it which indicate that the article, if genuine, was written at least a few months ago.
No matter if the article is genuine or not, the passage is fine and accurate in my opinion.
"The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting an inexperienced man like him with the Presidency.
It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama Presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their President.

For many weeks, liberals have been inciting a riot planned for TOMORROW, primarily in NYC, but it will happen elsewhere as well.
It will get huge MSM press, who will blow it up to 10X it's real size, and Bloomberg is setting up the MSM now, for an 'I told you so' tomorrow. CNN will have wall-to-wall coverage.
Obama will milk this tomorrow too, for the purpose of inciting Congress to hurry up and pass his 'emergency' jobs bill without reading it. If the riots work well enough for them, watch for more and more of these as November 2012 draws closer.
I hope our conservative media, bloggers, and politicians will NOT buy into this contrived uproar and spend all their energy debating Obama's agenda.
Someone should also scrutinize what kinds of 'document-dumps' are done tonight by this administration, since they will never see the press after tomorrow..............

With the White House already reeling over the Solyndra collapse, a new scandal may have erupted today that could make the disappearance of $535 million in taxpayer funds look like a paperwork glitch. Eli Lake starts off his new gig at The Daily Beast with a huge bombshell — an accusation made to members of Congress from a four-star Air Force general that claimed the White House pressured him to change his testimony to boost a big donor to the Democratic Party:
