--- So here’s the news: audible farting has been banned for some Marines downrange because it offends the Afghans.

I know there are many things in the Afghan culture that don’t seem normal to Americans and it’s hard to spend seven months working in someone else’s back yard. Still, the Marines I saw downrange are doing a pretty good job at trying to do the right thing around the Afghans.

They’re not supposed to cuss because it could be misunderstood (that one goes out the window a lot). And they stay away from talking about politics, religion or girls because those topics could escalate into major disagreements (they can’t communicate anyway because of the language barrier).

REAGAN: If you analyze it I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism. I think conservatism is really a misnomer just as liberalism is a misnomer for the liberals–if we were back in the days of the Revolution, so-called conservatives today would be the Liberals and the liberals would be the Tories.

But while Cash for Clunkers created no economic growth, it did make many low-income households worse off. With hundreds of thousands of used cars now off the market, used car prices shot up.

How did you get on to Lincoln?
I was real interested in the War, and I started thinking about how I could combine my profession with this hobby of mine: the history of the War.
More and more, as I read about Lincoln, I realized he was a tyrant. He was all about money and power. He was the political water-carrier of the Northern big business interests. Of course, he was a centralizer. I’m sort of a libertarian, although Clyde Wilson would say “Jeffersonian.” Jeffersonian is pretty much the same thing to me. Most people hear the word “libertarian” and think of people who advocate taking drugs, and that sort of thing. Jeffersonian is more like it.
It really struck me that the War destroyed the Jeffersonian ideal of government. I started writing a few articles about this, and turned it into this book.
What do you think will happen?
It seems to me that the American public has been dumbed down so much by the government schools that they’re just going to go along with this until it either bankrupts us all or we make enough enemies out there that September 11 will seem like child’s play. You can’t do this without making a lot of enemies in the world. That’s my biggest fear – that we won’t get rid of these Sons of Lincoln who run the Republican Party.


I agree with Clyde Wilson that America can’t be saved or returned to its roots until the Republican Party is destroyed.

During the Great Depression, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld a Minnesota law that restricted the ability of banks to foreclose on overdue mortgages, thereby impairing contracts made between lender and borrower. To prevent this kind of contract impairment -- routinely done under the Articles of Confederation -- was precisely why the Framers added the clause.

Will the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" weaken the U.S. military? What are current enlisted military members learning?

(Aug. 23, 2011) — On August 16, 2011, The Post & Email had reported on the case of SSgt Daryn Moran, a nine-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force and former Marine, who had challenged the constitutional eligibility of Barack Hussein Obama as well as objected to the lifting of the ban on homosexuals serving in the U.S. Armed Forces as amended by Congress in December 2010.

On August 17, 2011, Fox News reported via the Associated Press that Moran would be discharged from the military, terming him a “hero of the birther movement.” Why the unnamed reporter used that term is unknown.  He did not question why Moran had called for Obama’s arrest, nor whether or not evidence existed that “Obama’s birth certificate must be a fake.”

On August 22, 2011, we received an email from Mr. Moran which had been distributed to numerous parties, which reads:

Sir,

Good day, and thank God!  This is former SSgt Daryn J. In New Brunswick, N.J., a building superintendent opened the door to apartment No. 1076 one balmy Tuesday and discovered an alarming scene: terrorist literature strewn about the table and computer and surveillance equipment set up in the next room.

The panicked superintendent dialed 911, sending police and the FBI rushing to the building near Rutgers University on the afternoon of June 2, 2009. What they found in that first-floor apartment, however, was not a terrorist hideout but a command center set up by a secret team of New York Police Department intelligence officers.

From that apartment, about an hour outside the department's jurisdiction, the NYPD had been staging undercover operations and conducting surveillance throughout New Jersey. Neither the FBI nor the local police had any idea.

Since the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, the NYPD has become one of the country's most aggressive domestic intelligence agencies. A months-long investigation by The Associated Press has revealed that the NYPD operates far outside its borders and targets ethnic communities in ways that would run afoul of civil liberties rules if practiced by the federal government. And it does so with unprecedented help from the CIA in a partnership that has blurred the bright line between foreign and domestic spying.
