St. Abraham's War and Current Foreign Policy

St. Abraham's War and Current Foreign Policy:

"A century and a half after the war against Southern secession, the foreign policy of our country is still hampered by this tragic event. That is, had the war of federal aggression not taken place, had the South been allowed to leave peacefully, America would be in a far better position to exert a positive direction on several events which trouble the globe at the present time.

This does not imply that a libertarian US foreign policy would include the role of world policeman; organizing non-constitutional standing armies; stationing soldiers abroad in, literally, hundred of other countries; posting battle ships in every sea and ocean known to man.

No. A proper foreign policy would be informed by George Washington's 'Farewell Address' advice: to aim for friendly commercial relations with all nations, but political relations with none; to wish for the safety and happiness of all counties, but to fight to protect only our own."

EDITORIAL: One law for us, another for you (exempts selves from gun-control laws):

"The California state Senate voted 28-8 Wednesday to exempt itself from the pointless gun-control laws that apply to the rest of the populace. Legislators apparently think they alone are worthy to pack heat on the streets for personal protection, and the masses ought to wait until the police arrive.

This is just one of many bills Golden State politicians used this legislative session to set themselves apart from the little people, the ones who pay their inflated salaries. Annual compensation for legislators averages about $140,000, not counting luxurious perks such as taxpayer-funded cars and free gasoline.

By comparison, the average Californian earns $50,000 a year, and the unemployment rate is 11.9 percent - far above the national average. Exact salaries for state assemblymen and senators are obscured by the use of a “per diem” payment scheme that shelters a significant chunk of income from taxation."

Obama's DOJ leads Mexican and American citizens to slaughter

Obama's DOJ leads Mexican and American citizens to slaughter:

"This is an article about the abuse of Phoenix, and of Arizona by the Obama Department of Justice (DOJ). Arizona is accustomed to being trashed by the Obama administration being peppered by lawsuit after lawsuit.

What has changed is that Obama’s DOJ has now crossed the line and is getting hundreds if not thousands of people, many Americans, killed in the process. Notice in the attached video that Attorney General Holder is now engaged in a cover-up when it has now been proven that the DOJ was very aware of this botched project that is getting so many people killed."

FEMA, FCC Announce Nationwide Test Of The Emergency Alert System

FEMA, FCC Announce Nationwide Test Of The Emergency Alert System:

"WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will conduct the first nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS).

The nationwide test will occur on Wednesday, November 9 at 2 p.m. eastern standard time and may last up to three and a half minutes.

The EAS is a national alert and warning system established to enable the President of the United States to address the American public during emergencies. NOAA's National Weather Service, governors and state and local emergency authorities also use parts of the system to issue more localized emergency alerts.

On November 9, the public will hear a message indicating that 'This is a test.' The audio message will be the same for both radio and television

. Under the FCC's rules, radio and television broadcasters, cable operators, satellite digital audio radio service providers, direct broadcast satellite service providers and wireline video service providers are required to receive and transmit presidential EAS messages to the public. A national test will help the federal partners and EAS participants determine the reliability of the system and its effectiveness in notifying the public of emergencies and potential dangers nationally and regionally."

The Bounty Hunters of the Mainstream Media

The Bounty Hunters of the Mainstream Media: "Must be boring for reporters off on ‘assignments’ following up leads to bring down the enemies of politicians with easy lies and gossip.

Where are the reporters—even one—telling editors paid by the government to shove their jobs “where the sun doesn’t shine”?

Investigating reporting is left to New Zealand and Britain.

The only good news of the day is that readership is abandoning the mainstream media in droves, in favor of searching for truth on the Internet.

All of the newspapers, publishers and editors of which long lived la dolce vita from revenues in the black are now in the doldrums of the red.

Only their lavish towers remain standing over Washington and New York.

If poetic justice were real, the ivory towers of the newspaper giants would be turned over as homes for the ever increasing Obama homeless."

The Trojan Horse of 'HappinessResearch' by Thomas DiLorenzo

The Trojan Horse of 'HappinessResearch' by Thomas DiLorenzo: "A very large literature has built up over the past several decades in the area of so-called 'happiness research.' Such research is based on several very dubious assumptions: namely, that utility is cardinal and measurable after all; that interpersonal utility comparisons can therefore be made; and that the great unicorn of economic theory – the 'social welfare function' – has finally been spotted. Armed with these assertions, socialists around the world believe they have finally discovered their holy grail. Now that governments supposedly know with 'scientific certainty' what constitutes 'happiness,' there can be no argument (or so they think) against virtually unlimited government intervention in the name of creating happiness.

Affluence is actually a disease that generates massive unhappiness, says the Australian author of a popular book in this field, entitled Affluenza. The government of Brazil is in the process of enshrining this notion into its constitution, and similar movements exist in Great Britain and other countries."

How Police Are Turning Military | David Rittgers | Cato Institute: Commentary:

"The sheriff's office in Pima County, Ariz., raided the home of former Marine and Iraq combat veteran Jose Guerena, shooting 71 rounds at Guerena and hitting him with 22. The department is now facing a serious controversy over Guerena's death.

But the raid isn't the real tragedy. It's a symptom of the real tragedy: the militarization of U.S. law enforcement."

Obama Can Not Think

Obama Can Not Think: "Obama has not learned how to think, only what to think. This is what makes him doctrinaire and ideological, he has mastered a limited set of ideas and principles that he applies universally in all circumstances. He has the same set of responses to every condition. He is unable to differentiate between a variety of situations and evaluate them individually. His is a one size fits all mind."

Student Loans and DOE S.W.A.T. Teams

Student Loans and DOE S.W.A.T. Teams:

"On March 11, 2010, Washington Post blogger Valerie Strauss asked an intriguing question: “Why is the Education Department purchasing 27 Remington Brand Model 870 police 12-gauge shotguns?”

On June 7, 2011, the answer became clear. At 6 a.m. a S.W.A.T.-style team of 15 officers from the U.S. Department of Education's (DOE) Office of Inspector General broke down a door in Stockton, California. (The OIG is the semi-independent law-enforcement branch of the DOE which pursues criminal offenses such as student aid fraud.)

The agents had a no-knock warrant that had been issued by the DOE. On the other side of the door were Kenneth Wright and his three children ages 3, 7, and 11. None of them had violated any law. Nevertheless, an officer grabbed the underwear-clad Wright by the neck and dragged him onto the front lawn, pinning him down with a knee in the back. Eventually, the handcuffed Kenneth and his children were placed in the back of a patrol car for six hours while the police searched his house.

The Elite, the ‘Great Game’ and World War III

The Elite, the ‘Great Game’ and World War III:

"The control of the US, and of global politics, by the wealthiest families of the planet is exercised in a powerful, profound and clandestine manner.

This control began in Europe and has a continuity that can be traced back to the time when the bankers discovered it was more profitable to give loans to governments than to needy individuals.

These banking families and their subservient beneficiaries have come to own most major businesses over the two centuries during which they have secretly and increasingly organised themselves as controllers of governments worldwide and as arbiters of war and peace.

Unless we understand this we will be unable to understand the real reasons for the two world wars and the impending Third World War, a war that is almost certain to begin as a consequence of the US attempt to seize and control Central Asia.

The only way out is for the US to back off – something the people of the US and the world want, but the elite does not."
