West: Obama ‘shredding’ Constitution with new immigration rules

West: Obama ‘shredding’ Constitution with new immigration rules:

Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) on Monday accused President Obama of “shredding” the Constitution by imposing new rules last week that allow a case-by-case review of illegal immigrants set for deportation.

“I think he absolutely is,” West replied in an interview with the conservative website NewsMax when asked if he thought Obama was “shredding” the Constitution with the decision.

“I think he’s shredding his responsibilities as the president, and his respect and regard of the Constitution,” West added.

West, who announced earlier in the day that he will not run for an open Senate spot in Florida, said he has noted a trend within the Obama administration of legislating through executive edict.

“It just once again shows that back-door nature,” West said. “We see it a lot with the regulatory process that’s coming out of the administration.”
