The billboards on Highland Avenue in Salem and Cabot Street in Beverly have been hard to miss: "Judgment Day ... May 21 ... The Bible Guarantees It."
Phil Wyman saw a billboard and found it inspiring.
"We just decided to throw a party," said Wyman, pastor of The Gathering, a small nondenominational Christian church in Salem.
"Left Behind: The Party!" begins at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church at 217 Essex St.
There will be games, refreshments, live music and even an attempted rapture of plastic cups. Wyman will sing an original song he posted on YouTube: "Left Behind: The Song!"
"I joke about being left behind is a good thing," he said.
