I know what you are thinking. Coach Dave is finally coming out of the closet as a "Birther." He has joined that '"fringe element" in America that doesn't think that Barack Obama is an United States citizen.

Well, to be perfectly honest, I have been part of that group for quite awhile. I question where the president was born. What is wrong with that? "Trust but verify" a wise man once proclaimed. I think Obama would be wise to come clean on a lot of things.

He is a "shady" character. That is what my mother would have called him 30 years ago when folks were permitted to make judgment calls about people without being called names. Today there are groups of people that you are not able to criticize, at least not unless you are willing to face an onslaught of accusations designed to destroy your character.

Most folks don't want to have to go through it, so they just learn to keep their opinions to themselves. As a result, this call for "civility" has created a culture where the "shady" ones are able to get away with treason.

Bill Clinton is shady. So are Hillary, Newt, James Carville, Paul Begala, and Rudy. Every time I hear them talk I wonder if they have their fingers crossed behind their back. (I am sure you could add a few names to the list.)

You know what I am talking about. You know "shady" when you see it. Barack Obama, and his wife, are shady. In fact, there is a dark cloud hanging all over this regime.................

With quiet dignity a hooded figure revealed himself from the protective ring of trees. Mounting a small hillock he faced the sea of expectant faces. A measured sweep of his hands pulled back the hood to reveal a wizened face framed by a long white beard. For a long moment not a sound was heard or movement evident in the crowd.

The robed figure examined the myriad of faces before him with watery blue eyes that shone with intelligence and understanding. What he saw before him was hope. Hope on faces that only hours before had expressed only despair and fear. Their faces were still haggard but fire now dwelled in eyes that had previously only contained the spent ashes of surrender. His grey cloak marked his as one of the Wise Ones; dedicated to preserving knowledge from the past so that humanity would not have to relive it. Tonight he would be reading a selection from The Chronicles of Chaos. The hushed gathering listened with an intense reverence as the old one began to read from the ancient scroll.

"At the beginning of the Twenty First century a new religion rose to great acclaim and with much fervor. Its followers worshiped an all-powerful god named Political Correctness and a host of minor deities including Diversity, Tolerance, Sensitivity and Inclusion. Its priests were called Professors and they were charged with passing on its teachings to the youth and guarding its most holy of secrets. Collectively, this priesthood was called Academia and they resided in their own communities called Universities. Sustained by the public treasury their power grew and their prestige spread like a swarm of locusts upon the earth.

The elite of the every generation would be turned over to the Professors to be indoctrinated into the new religion. It was at the Universities that the young were taught to despise the old ways and to reject the teachings of their parents. The old traditions, cultures, holidays, religious practices, and beliefs were reviled, trampled and belittled so that they could be replaced in the minds of the young with the new teachings of the new religion. After their period of indoctrination and training the new prostheletizers of Political Correctness would be sent forth to spread its doctrine far and wide. They became fervent missionaries of a coming Utopia and the masses were swayed by the new gospel they preached.

Be honest. You're intrigued about Donald Trump running for president. C'mon, admit it. You like his blunt talk and you're willing to give him a look right?

In honesty to you whom are reading, I do not like looking at this man, watching this man nor listening to this man but reading his 3,400 word speech on Libya may be critical to the future of our dear country. I started seeking to measure the context as being either vapid or inspirational, what I found were that the words were very flat. This opinion began where I saw the President wrapped in a background wall of flags being used as props as if the previously used Styrofoam columns were sent into storage so that a new stage manager could bring on a different backdrop turning the location into a pulpit for preaching not a place for an intimate chat among friends. This President likes to speak from pre-prepared settings remaining shy from fielding rhetorical questions or answers. Given the opportunity to question authority, I would have asked, "Mister President, in lieu of your most popular and most loyal 'No War For Oil' political electoral base how is it now that you can explain to the American People the vast lease and drill concessions within Libya given to Exxon/Mobil, Total SA, BP/Royal Dutch plus several other oil exploitation corporations from Norway, Italy, Russia among others and our role protecting those assets with American blood and treasure?"; albeit, this president does not have a parliamentary dispatch box and never responds to even the simplest of inquiries.

Hearing the word "dither" came to his attention from several political image consultant sources and fearful of being titled again "Big Ears" or "Pantywaist" this President chose Monday, March 28, 2011 at 7:30 to show the world that that he is a decisive leader that can order killing and mayhem. In deference to our Dear Leader with the rapid information age there exists every hour a tsunami of news and to compare current decision dilemma to previous chief executives would not be fair; but, nevertheless, there are standard protocols which need to be followed when carrying the responsibility for military power; for instance, the notion of "vital interests". Last night he said, "We are naturally reluctant to use force to solve the world's many challenges. But when our interests and values are at stake, we have a responsibility to act.", so it must be our realm to make the world safe for collective "interests and values". One of those values with interest is "Live and let live!" although that selfish interest may seem callous to a citizen of the world does subscribing higher powers to the United Nations and the conceptualization of R2P (Responsibility 2 Protect) makes that turn either more or less inspirational or vapid? I choose to let those reading decide.

The White House and their fellow government media will have a real hard time denigrating Trump and his demands for Obama's full birth certificate. Ambercrombie, Governor of Hawaii has already tried DNC talking points. Instead of defending his statement that he remembers Obama being born, he speaks about Trumps bankruptcy's.

White House must be terrified, they are going to have a very hard time ignoring this elephant in the living room. I think it's gunna get real interesting as the Proofers gain traction on this mess.

Myself, I think, NO...a potus would not allow such a thing; nor would the generals and admirals consider allowing such a thing on their own.

What the troops think/do themselves is beside the point, as they would, for the most part, ultimately follow orders in any case. But some reading this would question this point too.Those, if any, who failed to follow orders would be... ineffective.

This question can be likened to the members of the scotus, congress and other responsible individuals and groups who are said to have failed to do the right thing in many instances in recent history, and actually throughout our history.
Many reasons have been cited for this...but here we are up to our arses in alligators w/o a paddle, so to speak.

This is a question that many have turned over in their minds but are reluctant to speak on, and for good reason due to...call it PC...at one level or another.

Not a single state employee will lose his job, not a single salary will be cut; he merely reduced the benefits package by asking public employees to pay for 12.6 percent of their health insurance. They must vote to recertify their union each year, and their pay raises will not exceed inflation – (unless the voters approve it.) The state will only match their retirement contribution, not pay 100 percent.

Some of you folks who have been on my e-mail list and/or who have browsed my websites since about 1998 will recognize the name of Richard Keech. But most of you will not know of him.

Richard was a preâ€“World War Two China Marine and his unit was sent to the Philippines (from China) a few weeks prior to the fall of Corregidor. When Corregidor fell he became a prisoner of the Japanese along with many others. The remainder of WWII was spent in a POW camp in Japan. After the war, Richard returned home, went to college, married and raised a family, and became a productive citizen, as they say.

In the midâ€“90s, another turning point occurred in his life when he shot and killed his former son-in-law.
His daughter had divorced her husband, and he, the former husband, had been coming to Richardâ€™s residence to visit his children. Apparently, he had a history of spousal abuse, and he ultimately got into scuffles with both his former wife and then Richard, which led to the above.
Long story short, Richard was sentenced to what amounted to life in a California state prison...

Obama is Surprised [that] Vets do not want to pay their own Medical Expenses!

Here's his response when he backed-off his decision to let the military pay for their war injuries. What an empty headed person he is. Bad press, including major mockery of the plan by comedian Jon Stewart, led to President Obama abandoning his proposal to require veterans' private health insurance to cover the estimated $540 million annual cost to the federal government of treatment for injuries to military personnel received during their tours on active duty.

The President admitted that he was puzzled by the magnitude of the opposition to his proposal..

"Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained. "Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It doesn't compute." "I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country," Obama continued. " (Just like the suicide bombers. sounds like his Muslim influences surfacing.) "I wasn't asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit. I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans."

Before Obama I do not recall hearing of him, though now his name is frequently mentioned in connection with both Hillary Clinton and Obama.

So I finally picked up a copy of his book, Rules For Radicals. the other day. Interesting book and an interesting guyâ€“an eye-opener for those interested in whatâ€™s happening in America today.

NOTE...

I knew Alan Stang first only by his writings, and then also, the last few years, we had exchanged e-mails numerous times after Alan noticed that I had posted much of his writings to my own sites. He admired the Marine Corps, and he said so and we discussed that and a few other things.

I regret that he is gone now, especially with the things of these times upon us.

He is missed.

Itâ€™s all in the name of research on finding a better way to tax motorists, and the pay is $895.

Wanted: 250 Maine drivers willing to let a stranger put a black box under their dashboard.

The reward: $895 and the opportunity to speak their minds about the highway tax experiment to a researcher.

University of Iowa researchers are seeking 250 motorists in Cumberland, York and Sagadahoc counties willing to have a computer tracking system installed in their cars for 10 months. The system could someday be used to tax drivers according to the number of miles they drive, rather than the amount of gasoline they consume.

Portland is one of six cities picked for the research, which is designed to determine whether a mileage tax would work better than the gas tax to support the countryâ€™s highway system.

Spite House continues the story of Colonel Tom McKenney after he left Vietnam a physical and emotional wreck. After lengthy rehabilitation, he was still left with one gnawing regret: his failure to kill Robert Garwood. Only the march of time and the words of respected military friends began to change his mind and plant seeds of doubt that, perhaps, he had been wrong about Garwood after all. More and more individuals, whom McKenney placed in a special category reserved for proven heroes, began to tell him of events and intelligence indicating that God had prevented him from killing an innocent man and a courageous Marine. General Tighe, Colonel Millard Peck, Captain Sam Owens, General Van Phat, and numerous former POWs all added fuel to a growing horror in McKenney's mind.

It culminated in a period of uncontrollable rage lasting almost 24 hours when he smashed mirrors, burned his uniform, and destroyed furniture, fired by the knowledge his own government had used him as a murder weapon in a war never meant to be won. McKenney purged his guilt when he met Jensen-Stevenson in 1991 and confessed to her, "I directed an official mission to assassinate Garwood behind enemy lines, because I believed what they told me. Would you tell him that I would crawl on my hands and knees to beg his forgiveness?" It was 1994 before the retired colonel and the disgraced private met face to face -- an emotional meeting to be sure.

A controversial suit brought by a U.S. Army reservist has been joined by a retired Army two-star general and an active reserve Air Force lieutenant colonel.

Maj. Stefan Frederick Cook filed the suit July 8 in federal court here asking for conscientious objector status and a preliminary injunction based upon his belief that Barack Obama is not a natural-born citizen of the United States and is therefore ineligible to serve as commander-in-chief of the U.S. Armed Forces.

When the GIs left Asia in â€™73, the commie peaceniks thought they had won. And they had, for ten minutes. The grip of the military on the country loosened briefly.

Unfortunately the soldiers learned. Not how to win wars, which they do poorly if at all, but how to keep a war going. Winning a war isnâ€™t all itâ€™s cracked up to be. The promotions and contracts stop. When you are paid to do something, it is in your interest not to finish doing it.

The Pentagonâ€™s first lesson learned was to avoid conscription, as the conscripted and their families will take to the streets. By using an army of volunteer suckers about whom nobody of importance cares, the military severs its wars from most of the country, which loses interest. The brass are then free to do as they choose.

The second lesson learned was that while defeating the enemy is not necessary, and perhaps not desirable, controlling the press is everything. And they did it.

So forty or so years after all the love-ins, the marches, the righteous dope (all of which may seem silly, but in my view preferable to watching a Cambodian mother screaming over the opened bleeding guts of her child) the Pentagon is at it again. Once more the jets howl over remote primitive countries, countries that did nothing to the US and couldnâ€™t have, and promotions flow, and contracts, and generals demand more troops and more money to stop communism. Excuse me, terrorism. Soon, the Chinese, a better threat, coming to a theater near you. With the passing of years, one demon fades into another. Switching enemies is much easier now, what with search-and-replace.

Hereâ€™s some of what Medal of Honor recipient and Viet Nam War POW Colonel Bud Day wrote about real torture. Colonel Day was shot down taken prisoner and brought to North Vietnam in 1967. In his books on his experiences, Colonel Day described real torture this way.

â€œI was put thru a mock execution because I would not respond. I was pistol whipped on the head.â€

â€œI was hung [upside down] by my feet all day.â€

â€œI escaped and got [shot during my recapture].â€

â€œ[Being shot] was OKâ€¦what happened after was not. They.. put me in the rope trick..almost pulled my arms out of the sockets. Beat me on the head with a little wooden rod until my eyes were swelled shut, and [pounded] my un-shot, unbroken hand a pulp.â€

â€œ[The next] day [they] hung me by the armsâ€¦re-broke my right wristâ€¦wiped out the nerves in my arms that control the hands..rolled my fingers up into a ballâ€¦only left the slightest movement of my left forefinger.â€

A Pentagon-commissioned report urges the Defense Department to ban smoking in the military, even by combat troops in battle zones, a proposal that quickly ignited a controversy among service members.

The study, which was completed late last month by the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences, recommends closing â€œthe pipeline of new tobacco users entering the militaryâ€ by prohibiting tobacco use in the service academies and officer-training programs like ROTC and eventually instituting a total ban on all use of tobacco by active-duty personnel.
