Smith didn't trust the federal government. Should we today? Their rap sheet for lying to us is longer than your arm, so you decide.

Melancton Smith, one of the original Anti-Federalists had a real problem with the Constitution's allowing the congress to tax because he felt, and rightfully so, that the power to tax was the power to abuse and destroy. Some felt the federal government would never do that, but, as Barnum used to say, "there's one (sucker0 born every minute."

Smith didn't trust the federal government. Should we today? Their rap sheet for lying to us is longer than your arm, so you decide.
