Image of what was purported by Factcheck.org to be Obama's "birth certificate" in August 2008
(Apr. 3, 2011) — It has been reported that the image of Obama's purported Certification of Live Birth has been removed or is otherwise unavailable from the website of Factcheck.org as of April 3, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. EDT.
The image still appears on Obama's "Fight the Smears" website from 2008. Under the image there is a submission with Factcheck's logo which reads:
When Barack Obama Jr. was born on Aug. 4,1961, in Honolulu, Kenya was a British colony, still part of the United Kingdom's dwindling empire. As a Kenyan native, Barack Obama Sr. was a British subject whose citizenship status was governed by The British Nationality Act of 1948. That same act governed the status of Obama Sr.'s children.Since Sen. Obama has neither renounced his U.S. citizenship nor sworn an oath of allegiance to Kenya, his Kenyan citizenship automatically expired on Aug. 4,1982.
The same webpage contains an initial statement also in the form of a message which can be sent by supporters to others which states:.............................
