All “religion” is man centered, controlled by the thoughts of the mind, rather than the conviction of the heart. Jesus warned us, that “These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.” Leaders of religions create rules which they then require the people follow. Tithing is not a New Testament principle, yet thousands of pastors preach it. Tithing is “religious,” while “freely giving” is Christ-like. Tithing is of the head; “freely giving” is of the heart........
