The Federal Reserve wants to know what you are saying about it. In fact, the Federal Reserve has announced plans to identify "key bloggers" and to monitor "billions of conversations" about the Fed on Facebook, Twitter, forums and blogs.
This is yet another sign that the alternative media is having a dramatic impact. As first reported on Zero Hedge, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York has issued a "Request for Proposal" to suppliers who may be interested in participating in the development of a "Sentiment Analysis And Social Media Monitoring Solution".
In other words, the Federal Reserve wants to develop a highly sophisticated system that will gather everything that you and I say about the Federal Reserve on the Internet and that will analyze what our feelings about the Fed are.
Obviously, any "positive" feelings about the Fed would not be a problem. What they really want to do is to gather information on everyone that views the Federal Reserve negatively.
It is unclear how they plan to use this information once they have it, but considering how many alternative media sources have been shut down lately, this is obviously a very troubling sign.

More recently, Mr. Derek Reeve, a councilman in the California town of San Juan Capistrano, is chastised and shamed by another Saudi-style agent of censorship into removing the name of his family’s pet dog. The web hosting service InMotion, a very reputable firm used by many thousands of web sites acknowledged the breach and gave the following statement:
“At around 4 a.m. EST, our system administration team identified a website defacement attack affecting a large number of customers. We are still investigating, but it appears that files named index.php have been defaced.

The traditional view: America is “the great melting pot” where immigrants from the world over come to seek their fortune, to build their families and assimilate into American society.
The Cultural Marxist revision: America is “multicultural,” composed of “diverse communities of race, national origin, gender and sexual orientation”; where everyone is encouraged to respect the uniqueness of others and to embrace their differences.
Impoverished school districts are forced to hire multilingual teachers of questionable ability to teach in the student’s language, instead of English.
State and federal publications, pamphlets and web sites must be in a variety of languages, because there is no effort made for immigrants to assimilate.

America is finally wising up to President Barack Obama, a nice guy who prepared for the presidency by being a follower, by avoiding confrontation while cozying up to City Hall.
So with the economy in such bad shape, shouldn't this rather flawed Obama be easy Republican pickings in the 2012 presidential election?
No.
And from what I've seen of the Republican establishment front-runner candidates, I don't think they can take him. And here's why:
Rick Perry. The governor of Texas is falling in the polls, perhaps because he can't get it through his head that America has already had its fill of a big-government Republican from Texas.
Perry's executive order forcing young girls to be vaccinated against sexually transmitted disease will bury him. Perry now acknowledges he made a mistake, that he should have let parents decide.
But when he had the chance, he used government power to force his will upon people. He's Bush III. Perry makes No Child Left Behind seem like a fairy tale with a happy ending.

Ron Paul‘s current stand on government has some decent opinions, however, he was a member of the Congress during Obama‘s run-up to the campaign, his campaign and his nomination, his election, his swearing-in and his first 2 and 1/2 years in office – and like all other members of the Congress Ron Paul did not publicly question Obama’s credentials – and he still doesn’t do that, instead he obliquely questions Obama’s policies.
The first one of the Republican candidates that directly and publicly questions Obama’s credentials will go to the head of the class, but it won’t be Ron Paul or any other sitting member of Congress among the candidates, no matter what the members say for public consumption, their primary loyalty is to their colleagues and anyone questioning Obama’s qualifications indicts them all. That is one pustular political boil no one among them wishes to pop.

Not sure if all knows this but the Holder DOJ has been reviewing and demanding documents since Obama was elected (of course they found no improprieties). Their problem, in my opinion, is Sheriff Joe has effectively fought the "illegal alien" problems we have.
His close friend, Sheriff Mack, has already won a Supreme Court victory stating "the Sheriff is the top enforcement officer in their county". Knowing Sheriff Joe we can bet he is going to vigorously go after the truth that too many are afraid to do and the DOJ has no authority to stop it.

The Internet has risen to its all-time high as a primary source of news for Americans with 43 percent now saying they get most of their news on national and international issues from the web, according to a survey published Thursday by the Pew Research Center for The People & The Press.
Meanwhile, television sits at an all-time low as a primary source of news for Americans with only 66 percent now saying they get most of their national and international news from TV–a nadir television also hit in December 2010.

In last Thursday’s Stark Country, we revealed that gold spins are on the rise for the Dixie Chicks eight and a half years after the incident that cost them their career. But even after all this time, a surprising number of country programmers say they’re still not playing the group’s past hits. Even those who are playing them are doing so very cautiously, with the politics of each market still playing a deciding role. When asked if all had been forgiven and forgotten when it comes to the Chicks, one programmer responded, “Are you kidding?”
We asked programmers how much (if any) Chicks music they’re playing now in the their gold categories, and how much that has changed in recent years. We also asked what kind of reaction they do get when they play or test music from the group now...............

'A secret World War II diary of the British special forces unit, the SAS, has been kept hidden since it was created in 1946. Now it's being published for the first time to mark the 70th anniversary of the regiment. The BBC has exclusive access to the remarkable piece of history.
It was 1946; World War II was over and so was the Special Air Service, better known as the SAS.
Set up in 1941 by David Stirling, a lieutenant in the Scots Guards at the time, it had changed the way wars were fought, dispensing with standard military tactics and making up its own. But in the new post-war world those in charge no longer saw a need for the regiment. It had been disbanded and there were no plans to revive it.
But for one former SAS soldier it wasn't over. Determined that the regiment's story wouldn't fade away and become a footnote in history, he made it his job to find and preserve whatever documents and photographs he could before they were lost forever. It was his final SAS mission.
As it turned out the elite force's expertise was still needed and it was resurrected just a year later in 1947. And by then the soldier's personal mission had resulted in something unique - a diary of the SAS in WWII.'

Ralph Nader, a big-government maverick and former Green Party candidate, recently called for a group of left-leaning Democrats to run. If a prominent opponent emerges, Mr. Obama’s re-election efforts would be fatally crippled.

There was a chemistry professor in a large college that had some exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab, the Prof noticed one young man, an exchange student, who kept rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt.
The professor asked the young man what was the matter.
The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country’s government and install a new communist regime.
In the midst of his story, he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked: “Do you know how to catch wild pigs?”
The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. The young man said that it was no joke.
