Glenn Beck warns against ‘vaporization of Israel’

Glenn Beck warns against ‘vaporization of Israel’: "“[Christian Israel supporters] see tragedy coming down the pike unless we take a stand,” Beck said. “Many of us were asleep for a long time. There are Americans who still say it will never happen, and everything will work out because we are America. But I know Americans outside of Washington who know that’s not necessarily true – not unless you change that behavior. We are waking up to what could be on the horizon: and what could be on the horizon is the vaporization of Israel and the end of the Western way of life as we know it,”

Casey Anthony plans to appeal convictions for lying

Casey Anthony plans to appeal convictions for lying: "Casey Anthony will appeal her convictions on four charges of lying to detectives who investigated the 2008 disappearance and death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee, according to a notice filed on Friday by her criminal defense attorneys.

(snip)

The defamation lawsuit was filed in 2008 but put on hold during the criminal proceedings. Fernandez-Gonzalez's lawyers this week asked for an emergency order to compel Anthony to appear at the deposition, telling the judge they were concerned she would disappear after her release from jail.

Greene countered with a motion for an emergency protective order, arguing that Anthony was emotionally and mentally exhausted by the seven-week criminal trial and has had no time to prepare for her defense in the defamation case.

At a court hearing Friday morning, Greene immediately asked Judge Jose Rodriguez for a private bench conference.

When it was over, Rodriguez announced he would step down from the case and adjourned the hearing. Neither Greene nor Keith Mitnik, who represents Fernandez-Gonzalez, would discuss what transpired in the private discussion with the judge.

Mitnik said Anthony's deposition is still on.

'What was accomplished today in my opinion is she's now going to get out of jail, and we've got to wait and see if she shows up,' Mitnik said.

Obama: "I Will Win" The Debate In 2012 On Winning The Future

Obama: "I Will Win" The Debate In 2012 On Winning The Future: "'So there will be huge differences between now and November 2012 between the parties, and whoever the Republican nominee is, you know, we're going to have a big, serious debate about what we believe is the right way to guide America forward and to win the future. And I'm confident that I will win that debate because I think that we've got, we've got the better approach.'

The 2012 card is played

The 2012 card is played: "Until now, President Obama has been one of the few Washington players who has resisted the temptation to explicitly link the debt talks to 2012 (compared with, say, Mitch McConnell, who has said his party will be destroyed if the debt ceiling collapses).

But that abruptly changed Friday, when Obama strode sternly into the White House and broke his own tacit rule of never mixing the nation’s business with his own political strategy. “Whoever the Republican nominee is,” he declared, “ we’re going to have a big serious debate about what we believe is the right way to guide American forward and to win the future.”

Has Mitch gone mad?

Has Mitch gone mad?: "Is McConnell's proposal part of a similar surrender with respect to the money issues? It masquerades as a clever ploy intended to tag Obama with the damaging political consequences of the U.S. government's runaway spending and indebtedness. But it's too clever by half (or is it two-thirds?). McConnell's proposal actually shifts the initiative in money matters away from the body intended to represent people at the grass roots to the executive. The executive gains a free hand so long as he is supported by an override-proof minority of the U.S. Senate (i.e., the one-third that blocks both a veto-override and any Senate decision to remove the president from office after his impeachment by the House.)

-----

...they should simply propose legislation, based on the 14th Amendment language, that requires the executive to give first priority in expenditures to servicing the debt, including veteran's pensions and the Social Security system's paid-for retirement and survivor benefits...

As for McConnell's shift of power to Obama, this is the way the republic ends."

Obama: Public is 'sold' on tax increases in a debt-ceiling deal (Keep telling yourself that Barry)

Obama: Public is 'sold' on tax increases in a debt-ceiling deal (Keep telling yourself that Barry): "President Obama on Friday kept up the pressure on Republicans to agree to revenue increases in a deal to raise the debt ceiling, claiming 80 percent of the public supports Democrats' demand for tax increases.

'The American people are sold,' Obama said. 'The problem is members of Congress are dug in ideologically.'

Throughout the press conference, Obama blasted Republicans for ignoring what he said is the will of the American people by rejecting tax increases that would balance out spending cuts in a debt package.

'This is not an issue of salesmanship to the American people,' Obama said.

'I hope [Republicans are] not just listening to lobbyists and special interests ... I hope they're listening to the American people as well,' Obama said, citing 'poll after poll' showing Republican voters, as well as Democrats, believe in taking 'a balanced approach' — including both increased revenues and spending cuts in a plan to cut the deficit.

Obama repeated his warning that the country is 'running out of time' to avert a financial “Armageddon.”"

THERE COULD HAVE BEEN NO AMERICAN "CIVIL WAR" WITHOUT BIG GOVERNMENT!

Gunny G:
There could have been NO American "Civil War" without Big Government!

The US Constitution brought the potential of big government at the federal level to America.

In my opinion...
It is the nature of big government itself that enables a hierarchy that oppresses we the people. Many have spoken of "working within the system"; and they very well know whereof they speak. There's the rub. The system lends itself all too well to manipulation.

Our first constitution, the Articles Of Confederation, had no provision for a big federal government; no president, no congress, no supreme court, no taxes--these were the function solely of state government--and, of course, none of the federal departments and agencies, a standing army, etc. that later came into being.

By Lincoln's time, federal government, under the new constitution had grown (mushroomed) along with the growth of the country and beyond...

Today, our biggest problems and complaints have to do with all of the above and more-- all  at the federal level, and all at the expense of state's rights!
.
And, it has been chiefly since the civil war that federal big government has grown ever larger and even more oppressive.

The constitutional convention that met in secret in Philadelphia in 1787 was only to update The Articles Of Confederation, not to do away with it completely and replace it with a new constitution.

There were two major schools of thought involved at the ConCon, those of the Federalists and those of the Anti-Federalists...
And, the new constitution would never have come into being at all had not a Bill Of Rights been finally added.

The Constitution requires the constant vigilance of the people, otherwise it is corrupted by its officials and others and turned against the people themselves, as the founding fathers constantly warned.

The question is, or should be, should our original, first, constitution have been amended only as originally intended? Or was the new constitution a good thing, but carried too far?
Could/would federal government be controlled?

For good reason the (small government minded ) founding fathers didn't envision a federal establishment beyond what was needed to provide necessary supplemental (minimal) service to the state governments. At that time there were 13 states (countries) in the union.

(Yes, states are countries.) Now 50 countries!

And consider the following from the Constitutional Convention, etc.:

"...If Mr. Yates was correct in his assessment that his country, in 1787, was too large and extensive to be a workable consolidated "republic" what would he think of the territory we currently occupy, supposedly as a "republic" (but actually as a consolidated democracy)? If thirteen states were too many, with too much area for a workable republic to function correctly, what can we say for fifty states, plus whatever other territories we currently occupy?..."

Just think: No Lincoln, no civil war and all that came with it, and certainly no resulting big, huge, government, as we know it today!

Something to consider, and ponder deeply.

Trump: Republicans Are 'Terrible, Frightened' Negotiators

Trump: Republicans Are 'Terrible, Frightened' Negotiators: "DONALD TRUMP: Right. Well, the Republicans are doing another el foldo. They did one during the lame duck session, where they brought Obama, like a phoenix he rose again. He was gone. It was over. And all of a sudden, they just allowed him back into the game.

And now they're doing another one but at a much higher level. This is incredible. They had all of the cards. Now, they haven't made this deal yet, but from all indications, it looks like they're frightened. It looks like they're scared. And it looks like they're just folding.

VAN SUSTEREN: Why?

TRUMP: I have no idea! And they are making Obama look so great. It's just incredible. The fact is the Republicans are terrible negotiators.

TRUMP: The fact is, Greta, they are terrible, terrible, frightened negotiators. And I just can't believe they are doing this.

THE METAPHOR OF THE BULB
boblonsberry.com ^ | 07/14/11 | Bob Lonsberry

Posted on Friday, July 15, 2011 9:28:05 AM by shortstop

The light bulb is dead.

The incandescent bulb which has pushed back the night since an American named Thomas Edison invented it, will soon be no more. It was killed, like the innovation it symbolizes, by the federal government.

In one more demonstration of the we-know-better-than-you arrogance which has come to define Washington, the switch has been flipped on the light bulb’s last chance at life.

In a vote earlier this week, 233 voted to keep the bulb and 193 voted to get rid of it, but in the new-math world of parliamentary procedure, the bulb still lost.

Actually, the bulb didn’t lose anything.

It is an inanimate object, a thing we hold in our hands, a product we use in our homes.

The real loser is us.

And what we’ve lost is freedom.

In the steady chipping away of anything that resembles liberty, the all-powerful federal masters even dictate how we light our homes.

They tell us what light bulbs are legal, how much water can be in our toilet, how much ethanol must be in our gasoline, how many ounces can be in a paint can. They say, “Jump” and we say, “How high?”

The notion of the people controlling the government is forgotten, neither taught in classrooms nor understood in society. We are subjects, not citizens, the government is sovereign, not servile. And none of that is good.

It is like the taming of a wild horse.

It runs free, living as it will, until it is brought into a corral. Once habituated to being penned in, the cowboy lays a blanket over its back, which it at first kicks off, but ultimately accepts.

Then a touch, then a bridle, then a bit, then a saddle, then a spur.

And before you know it, step by step, in tiny increments, the once-free horse is waltzing around the arena like a Lipizzaner.

That’s about where we are.

We were given a country of liberty, and we have allowed it to be turned into a kingdom of bureaucrats and politicians. The government plans and often pays for our children’s meals. The government determines how many miles per gallon our cars must travel. The government rules and we obey.

And somehow, sometime we have to stop it.

Because somewhere in our future, by ballot or bullet, this will once again be a free country. History would suggest that there will first be a long and insufferable reign of oppression. But someday, in some American breast, there will burn again the passion for liberty, and the shackles will be thrown off.

Better that we avoid that reign of oppression by throwing it off now, by standing up to it and demanding that we be allowed to live our lives.

A micro-managing government is an oppressive government, regardless of the ostensible motive. Protecting us – or the environment or the children or the economy or whatever else they’re protecting – is not justification for enslaving us.

And government cannot protect you without enslaving you. It cannot protect you from the consequences of your choices without taking away you ability to make those choices.

And so we must wear seat belts and motorcycle helmets and ban transfats and cell phones in cars. Fries can’t have too much salt and cigarettes must carry pictures of cancers and people who buy guns must show picture ID and wait five days. We have to buy insurance and we can't buy fireworks and from zoning rules to city ordinances to state and federal laws, the government seems to see its primary function as putting its boot on our necks.

But you can't succeed unless you can also fail, and you can't be free unless you are left to face the consequences of your freedom. The government needs to learn that, and so do we.

We need to stop being complicit in our own enslavement.

We must stop expecting the government to meet our every need and kiss our every booboo. We must accept personal responsibility for our wellbeing and support. We must realize that life isn't fair, we don't all make the same amount of money, the storms do rage and the earth does quake, and that we can't take a government handout without accepting a government restraint.

This country wasn't formed to make us safe, it was formed to make us free. The purpose of government is not to oversee our lives, it is to safeguard our liberties.

Both we and the government must learn its place.

And it must learnt to keep its nose out of our business.

JB Williams --""Once the people reach a point where they no longer trust anyone in their government..."

"Once the people reach a point where they no longer trust anyone in their government, when every government action from the Executive, Judicial and Legislative branches seem just another lie intended to manipulate the masses into compliance, the people’s complacency will morph into unbridled rage in an instant.

With nothing but liberty left to lose, the people will do whatever it takes to reclaim their freedom and deal with those so bold as to directly and overtly assault them."

Psychology of the Political Class - Frank Chodorov - Mises Daily

Psychology of the Political Class - Frank Chodorov - Mises Daily:

"In an entirely different sense, the word 'crooked' is applicable to all politicians, but it is a sense in which the word is never used. I mean that it is simply impossible for one immersed in the political game to think normally or 'straight' — assuming that the nonpolitical mind can be so described. If we accept as normal the thought processes of those who make a living in the marketplace — the stenographer, the banker, or the editor — then the tergiversations of the political mind must be considered abnormal or 'crooked.'

Coming to the point, the psychology of the politician is obviously quite different from that of the work-a-day producer, and it is this difference that should be explored if we are to understand politics. We Americans, who talk so much about public affairs, will never know what we are talking about until we take into consideration the phenomenon of political psychology."

Laurie Roth - Obama lies about Treasury, threatens seniors

Laurie Roth - Obama lies about Treasury, threatens seniors: "The reason Obama won’t budge in these debt ceiling talks is that he has no intention of stopping the endless waste of money he and the left spend. I strongly believe that Obama has his cronies and is financially setting up his ‘favored Obama’ status for nothing but manipulated and bought votes. He could care less about the American people, especially our seniors. It is no surprise to me that he would threaten to hold back their social security payments. Remember, Obama and his Chicago Politics mind, must have crisis after crisis to blame conservatives and those running against him on. Obama, I have been taking you on for years on your UN American ways…….no I may run against you.

We already know to Obama seniors are in the way since he practically wrote them out of his new Health care program. They will get longer lines, rationed care, forced end of life counseling, higher manipulated payments for less care. Are you shocked that Obama would lie to America about the money in our coffers and our ability to pay our critical bills?"

NWV News - Obama Must Be Stopped Now, Say Conservative Leaders

NWV News - Obama Must Be Stopped Now, Say Conservative Leaders: "More and more Americans, especially conservatives and Libertarians are calling for the end of the Obama juggernaut to 'fundamentally transform' the United States into a nation of progressive experimentation on the road to becoming part of a world government. Even in the U.S. House of Representatives, congressmen are using terms such as 'hinder' or 'end' in their proposed legislation to stop Obama's liberty-crushing executive orders and laws.

For example, the House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith (R-TX) yesterday introduced the Hinder the Administration’s Legalization Temptation (HALT) Act (H.R. 2497), legislation to prevent the Obama administration from abusing its authority to grant massive administrative amnesty to illegal immigrants.

Senator David Vitter (R-LA), Chairman of the U.S. Senate Border Security and Enforcement First Immigration Caucus, will introduce the companion in the Senate this week.

Over the course of the last year, the Obama administration has sought to circumvent Congress and use executive branch authority to allow illegal immigrants to remain in the United States. Last month, Administration officials caved to pressure from their liberal base and announced changes to Secure Communities, GOP lawmakers have stressed."

 - Lawrence Sellin  Thursday, July 14, 2011 imageI would think, by now, it should be clear to the entire planet that the Certificate of Live Birth presented by Barack Obama as his own at a press conference on April 27, 2011, is a forgery.
The evidence of forgery in that Certificate of Live Birth has been documented in detail by Doug Vogt and has been submitted to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
There is, therefore, evidence of an ongoing felony.
There is also little doubt in my mind that members of Congress are fully aware of it.
“Misprision of felony” is still an offense under United States federal law 18 U.S.C. § 4:
“Whoever, having knowledge of the actual commission of a felony cognizable by a court of the United States, conceals and does not as soon as possible make known the same to some judge or other person in civil or military authority under the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.”

Does Janet Napolitano believe in the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights given the constitutional rights violations her TSA agents are effecting against American citizens? Are any of the presidential candidates discussing it?

(Jul. 14, 2011) — I used to think that it was the book publishers who started conspiracy theories: you know, like Oswald was programmed by L.B.J., so they could sell more books. but if you’re a real conspiracy aficionado, you have to have more layers, like maybe it is actually the tree-huggers who are the ones responsible for spreading myths, so they have to cut down more trees to print more books so the environmentalists rack in more donations to protect more forests. And that’s the beauty of such a system of belief: whatever you want to make up, works. It’s okay to be far out, to be outrageous. The downside of that kind of entertainment is that when something brazen but true comes down the pike, people just brush it off as yet another meaningless conspiracy theory."

A federal judge has ordered that whether Google is spying for National Security Agency or not, you have no right to know.

'The NSA need not disclose 'the organization or any function of the National Security Agency, [or] any information with respect to the activities thereof,'' U.S. District Judged Richard Leon has ordered.

'Once the agency, through affidavits, has created 'as complete a public record as is possible' and explained 'in as much detail as is possible the basis for its claim,' … 'the court is not to conduct a detailed inquiry to decide whether it agrees with the agency's opinions,'' he said."

Emails Show White House Targeting Fox News Despite Denial

Emails Show White House Targeting Fox News Despite Denial: "The emails, obtained and released by watchdog Judicial Watch, pertain to a kerfluffle over whether the administration tried to lock Fox News out of a round of interviews with 'pay czar' Kenneth Feinberg, who was then responsible for reviewing compensation of Wall Street executives.

The perceived slight in October 2009 led to a confrontation with the press corps, not just Fox News -- afterward, the administration ultimately granted the interview to Fox News, along with other news outlets. Administration officials at the time rejected any suggestion that they had tried to exclude Fox News in the first place.

But the emails suggest the subject was at least discussed.

'The Obama administration seems to have lied about its attempt to exclude Fox News Channel from access to an interview with the 'pay czar,'' Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a statement.

Fitton told Fox News the White House treatment was 'something Hugo Chavez might do but it really has no place in modern-day America.'

The emails cover dozens of conversations in late 2009. But in one email dated Oct. 22, 2009, White House media official Dag Vega wrote to Treasury spokeswoman Jenni LeCompte saying, 'we'd prefer if you skip Fox please.'

The national debt has doubled in the past five years, including a 43-percent increase in just two years. This year’s budget deficit of $1.6 trillion indicates we have a serious spending problem, and we simply cannot afford to increase the government’s borrowing power without enacting substantial budget reforms.
