...There was another story of a last stand in the American West; that of the Battle of The Little Big Horn involving General Armstrong Custer and the 7^th Cavalry.  The ending was tragic for the 7^th as they fought desperately to repel an overwhelming force of Native American tribes fighting for their own freedom and their sacred way of life.  

Custer’s arrogance, narcissism and egotistical thirst for personal glory were at fault and the cause of this tragic loss of life.  I will not argue for either side in this conflict because it is not the point I wish to make.  There is always an element of responsibility on either side of a conflict.  The point I wish to make is that these conflicts are nearly always started by a despot who cannot satisfy his or her own emptiness with the simplicities of life, family and good endeavor.

In all these stories of human conflict there are heroes on both sides.  Today I am looking for one of those, someone who will lead our last stand before America is fractioned into its slightest parts and sold or stolen as spoils of an economic, religious and ideological war against its citizenry.

An Irish American man has spent almost $150,000 in preparation for what he believes is the beginning of the end. Robert Fitzpatrick, 60, spent what he called his "life savings" on bus and subway advertisements throughout New York City in preparation for May 21, 2011 – or Judgement Day as Fitzpatrick has referred to it. 

Fitzpatrick, a recently retired MTA engineer, is so convinced that the fast approaching date is the end of the world, that he published a book titled "The Doomsday Code." In an interview with the New York Post Fitzpatrick reasoned that his book provided "proof that cannot be dismissed" that the end was at hand. 

This journalist encountered Fitzpatrick on the N train on the New York subway the other day. He was sitting by himself in the back of the last car, billboard and all, and got off at Herald Square. He did not preach or talk to any strap-hangers, despite his attention-grabbing sign proclaiming the end of the world. 

Fitzpatrick believes that just before 12 midnight Jerusalem time on the 21st of May, the whole world will experience a massive earthquake which will "render the earth uninhabitable." His predictions are reminiscent of a disaster movie. 

Fitzpatrick's obsession with the end of the world stems from the Evangelical radio programs hosted by Harold Camping. Camping uses a formula based on numerology in which he looks for codes and clues in the Bible to predict Judgement Day. 

Camping has predicted the end on several occasions, yet Fitzpatrick tells the Post he does not want to consider his own predictions to be wrong. 

"I don't want to talk about it. I don't want to think about it," Fitzpatrick said, adding that "everybody asks me that."
Although many may find fault in Fitzpatrick's predictions, he is not alone. With all the civil unrest and natural disasters that have been occurring in the past eighteen months around the world, Fitzpatrick is not unique in his beliefs.

Many are jumping on the bandwagon claiming that the end is near indeed. One piece of advice Fitzpatrick offers is for people to stop believing that their destinies are self-determined: "It is not our choice. It is God's choice.

Political scientists from the Russian Political Science Association are reporting today about an ‘unusual’ American Presidential candidate, named Ron Paul, and who is a current US Congressman from the State of Texas, who has so raised the animosity of the United States War Leaders against him that he has been ‘targeted for destruction’ by them.

Though the election for the next American President is not due to take place until November, 2008, the United States procedure for selecting their Presidential Candidates rests upon a series of Primaries where the individual American States select their choices for who will represent them at their Party Conventions.

This type of election system has in the past ‘chosen’, by default, the Presidential Candidates as early as 9 months prior to the actual Presidential election itself.

As of this writing there are currently over 20 potential American Presidential Candidates vying for their Parties (Either Republican or Democrat) choice to be their nominee for President of the United States, of which Congressman Ron Paul is one of, on the Republican side.

What has, apparently, and according to these reports, raised the ire of the American War Leaders against Congressman Paul is his anti-war stance and calling for American Troops to be returned from their current wars, all around the World, to America. Congressman Paul has further called for investigations into what caused the United States to become embroiled in their World Wars in the first place.

At the same time as Congressman Paul’s ‘unique’ positions against American Foreign Policy have broken upon the conciseness of the American people these reports state that there has been a ‘surge’ of popular support for him, and his message, which is now resonating with the growing anti-war mood of the war weary citizens of the United States.

A helicopter mysteriously landed at the scene of Dr David Kelly’s death shortly after the body was found.

The aircraft only remained on the ground for five minutes before leaving, suggesting it either deposited or collected somebody or something.

Details from its flight log, released under the Freedom of Information Act, show that the helicopter – hired by Thames Valley police – landed at Harrowdown Hill in Oxfordshire at 10.55am on July 18, 2003, 90 minutes after the body was discovered by volunteer search teams.

Significantly, the flight log has been heavily redacted, making it impossible to know who was on board or what its exact purpose was.
The flight was not mentioned in oral evidence at the Hutton Inquiry, set up by Tony Blair to investigate Dr Kelly’s death.

(Washington, D.C., 5/14/11) In an announcement quietly released on Friday evening, it was announced by an anonymous source within the administration the Navy's newest aircraft carrier, currently designated CVN-69 and scheduled for commissioning in 2019 will be called the USS Barack Obama.

The statement read in part, "A president such as Barack Obama, will be dutifully and respectfully honored by having CVN-69 named for him. His courage, honor, honesty and ability to effectively lead this nation through hard times brought upon us by previous Republican administrations to unparalleled prosperity and record numbers on government assistance ensuring thousands of federal government jobs are the hallmarks of a great President deserving of every accolade which can be given.”

“We are also pleased to announce that CVN-69 will be “manned” by the first all gay crew on board a U.S. Navy vessel in honor of Obama’s commitment to allow gays in the military. We will be making some adjustments to the vessel in order to ensure a happy gay crew such as a small wedding chapel in the rear of the ship as well as double-wide bunks that can easily accommodate up to 3 sailors.

The crew’s lounge will be renamed the “Frolic Area” and will be in the rear next to the wedding chapel. Other adjustments are under discussion such as an onboard florist and a hair stylist.”

"One last thing, CVN-70, scheduled for commissioning in 2023 is tentatively named the USS Michele Obama."

The Texas congressman announced on "Good Morning America" that he is launching an official campaign for the Republican presidential nomination. As the founding father of a libertarian movement that paved the way for the tea party, Mr. Paul thinks his odds have improved since his last campaign in 2008. 

He said people are finally “agreeing with much of what I’ve been saying for 30 years. The time is right.”

The wife of a Tucson man killed in a Pima County SWAT raid May 5 pleaded for five minutes with 911 dispatchers to send an ambulance for her mortally wounded husband, audio records show. 

Often through tears and sometimes in broken English, Vanessa Guerena, tells 911 operators that her husband had been shot by a "bunch of people" who opened the door of their southwest-side home and "just shoot him." 

Meanwhile, dispatchers worked to determine if she was calling from a house where the SWAT team was serving a search warrant, audio released Friday by Drexel Heights Fire Department reveals. It takes about an hour for waiting medics to know what happened, and the man is dead before fire crews are allowed into the home. 

Jose Guerena, 26, a former Marine, was sleeping after the graveyard shift at Asarco Mission mine about 9:30 a.m. when his wife woke him saying she heard noises outside and a man was at their window. Guerena told his wife to hide in a closet with their 4-year-old son, his wife has said. He grabbed an AR-15 rifle and moments later was slumped in the kitchen, mortally wounded from a hail of gunfire.

Then candidate Obama shot a right hook. Christian radio tycoon says the world will end May 21—and surprising numbers believe him.

Ralph Workman believes what he hears on Christian radio. He believes preacher and Family Radio chief Harold Camping is right about Judgment Day. He believes the world is coming to an end May 21, 2011. 

An engineer at Boeing's avionics lab, Workman helps manage an RV caravan winding its way around the United States—from Indianapolis to Pittsburgh to Virginia—sharing the belief that biblical numbers point to the specific expiration date for the world. He also runs a website called eBible Fellowship, which distributes Camping's teachings.

"I hope many people will get saved and God will have mercy like Nineveh, but most are just scoffers," Workman said. Even his wife does not agree with him on Camping's teaching.

The timing coincides with earthquakes, tsunamis, and Middle East turmoil, feeding greater than usual response to end-times predictions. It precedes the Mayan 2012 prediction, which broke into popular culture through the 2009 big budget movie 2012 .
Theologians, former listeners, and skeptics warn that Camping's teaching is unbiblical, prediction off-base, and message harmful to followers.

But many seem to be listening to Camping rather than his critics—funding ads, signs, and postings from Iceland to India, along with YouTube videos, some with more than 300,000 views and titles like "Rapture Soon," "Jesus Coming," and of course "May 21, 2011."

Family Radio is sponsoring the caravan of four RVs, plastered with Camping's message, and has bought space on 1,000 billboards nationwide.

This is Camping's latest prediction after followers were disappointed in 1994, when he gave a range of dates.

In 1988 when George H. W. Bush was running for president, one of the derisive comments on him grew into something called the Wimp Factor.

Newsweek wanted to know if he were tough enough for the job.

Now this is an atrocious thing to even infer about a man with an impeccable record of heroism and government service. Not only was the man shot down in the Pacific but also survived a long ordeal on the open seas in a lifeboat.
The whole issue seems incredulous until one looks at it from another angle.
Newsweek was saying that Republicans were too nice...or maybe too civil.

What has become a catch phrase for President Obama has been historically a vice for Republicans, and a certain formula for political defeat.

Democrats believe Republicans are so wimpy that they counsel them on how to behave.

Not only is the White House pushing an executive order requiring would-be federal contractors to disclose political donations - a proposal so blatantly partisan that even Democrats are crying foul - but now the IRS has climbed aboard by challenging gifts to politically involved not-for-profits. 

Scurrying to develop other ways to clamp down on GOP money-raising and influence, the Obama administration also has the IRS scrutinizing gifts made to non-profit groups that have political leanings. The tax authority has sent letters to five wealthy donors questioning, for the first time, the treatment of gifts to such advocacy groups.

President Obama has long been on the warpath against such entities, that are organized as 501(c)(4)s and that have become increasingly powerful vehicles for political activists.
The IRS has gone out of its way to portray this unprecedented inquiry as the labor of two "career civil servants" in the estate and gift tax department, trying to suppress suspicions that the move is politically motivated. Still, the Financial Times calls the move a "radical departure in how tax authorities have treated such 'gifts' over the last 30 years."

A Pima County Sheriff's Department SWAT team shot and killed Jose Guerena eight days ago; it was executing a search warrant.

Four days ago, in a news conference, a sheriff's deputy said the department makes it clear when SWAT is about to enter a home. Lt. Michael O'Connor says SWAT says it never wants to be mistaken for other people, "We had our large armored vehicle there with the markings on it. It also has lights and sirens. It was going.

So we do everything we can to try to portray the image that we're law enforcement, we're not home invaders."

But, Guerena's wife, Vanessa, who hid in the closet with her youngest son while 71 rounds were fired her husband's direction, said she heard nothing. At any point did you hear them yell, ‘police" or ‘SWAT'?" KGUN9 asked. "No, no!" answered Guerena.

A neighbor who heard the shooting corroborates the wife's account, "The only sirens I heard out here were like maybe 20-30 minutes into the entire ordeal," said David Watson. 

Watson is very familiar with gunfire and stressful situations; he's a Vietnam combat veteran, "I want to make this as clear as possible: you only heard the announcements after you heard the gunfire?" asked KGUN9 reporter Joel Waldman. Watson quickly answered, "Yes!"

Dr. Terry Lakin was released today from Ft. Leavenworth, where he served almost six months of prison time for refusing orders over his doubts about Barack Obama's eligibility to be president, and told WND that he is going to focus on his family first, then his church and medical career.

In comments via telephone shortly after his release, Lakin, a lieutenant colonel in the military, told WND that he also remains dedicated to the Christian ideals on which the United States was founded.

The interview was facilitated for WND by Marco Ciavolino, who is with the Terry Lakin Action Fund, and was on hand to greet the released officer.

Matthews says that the CIA is using “psy-ops” to put out “little colonels of information” to humiliate Bin Laden, with particular reference to the ludicrous story of the porno stash allegedly found in his compound.
