Clearly the administration is determined to make it increasingly difficult for our Border Patrol agents to carry out their duties to secure our nation's borders. The efforts of the valiant Border Patrol agents is also, of course, being undermined by the policy statements issued by the President and members of the administration to terminate removal (deportation) hearings involving hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens and providing employment authorization to many of those illegal aliens.
These decisions amount to the firing of a starter's pistol along our nation's borders to encourage many more aliens to run our borders and head to cities across this nation, from coast to coast and border to border!
Meanwhile yesterday, the President went before an unusual joint session of Congress that, as the reporters noted, resembled a State of the Union Address to advocate the expenditure of hundreds of billions of dollars to.............................

Rights are conferred, not by man, but by God. Our Founders and Framers recognized that in our Declaration of Independence. What our Founders understood (in the social milieu of the 18th century) was the relationship of rights and obligations. A person, tribe, state or nation cannot have or recognize and exalt the former without the existence of the latter. For every gift from God comes an attendant obligation.
In this instance, we look at the right to Liberty, the second right enumerated in the Declaration of Independence. By endowing us with the right to Liberty, God laid the obligation to honor and support that self-same right in every other person. To constrain our activities when they would impinge on another person’s Liberty, and to support the struggle for Liberty (cf. Thomas Jefferson’s quote on the tree of Liberty).
A nation, state, tribe or any other definition of a group of individuals cannot legislate a right, only recognize a right conferred by God. And the test to see if something is a right is to validate that it is applicable to all and that there is an attendant obligation that likewise is applicable to all. Just a brief exposure to an image of the American flag shifts voters, even Democrats, to Republican beliefs, attitudes and voting behavior even though most don’t believe it will impact their politics, according to a new two-year study just published in the scholarly Psychological Science.
What’s more, according to three authors from the University Chicago, Cornell University and Hebrew University, the impact had staying power.
“A single exposure to an American flag resulted in a significant increase in participants’ Republican voting intentions, voting behavior, political beliefs, and implicit and explicit attitudes, with some effects lasting 8 months,” the study found. “These results constitute the first evidence that nonconscious priming effects from exposure to a national flag can bias the citizenry toward one political party and can have considerable durability.”

Bizarre and, yes, repugnant as it is to our essentially centrist country, America now has a president who has broken that time-honored tradition. Barack Obama, on the campaign trail and as the leader of the free world is the first U.S. president to proclaim to anyone within earshot that he, like his wife, is not proud of his country, and is all-too-willing to offer serial apologies – for America! – to Americans and foreigners alike.
As Ed Lasky writes: “We know that during the campaign [Obama] warned that criticism of his wife was `off-limits’. But criticism of America – well, that is fine.”
We also know that during his run for the presidency, Obama expressed sneering condescension towards all those bible-clasping, gun-owning yahoos who “cling” to those silly things, and that in Europe he consistently gave voice to America’s supposed “sins.”
But all that pales in comparison to the clear contempt – looks more like hatred to me – that Obama feels for the United States of America and for its most revered founding document, the U.S. Constitution..................

He told the group that a Des Moines Register reporter called to ask him the same thing. He said he told reporter, "'Well, I'll tell you what, What he was saying to me I cannot repeat.' And he said, 'What? What?' I said, 'I'm just kidding! I'm just kidding!'"
The truth, Paul said, is, "I don't even recall the moment and I don't remember exactly what he said. But we didn't have any cross words."
At least not during the break. He noted "the most challenging words" were said on stage during the debate.

MADISON, Wis. -- A maintenance supervisor at one of the most pristine veterans cemeteries in the country used the grounds as his private dump, burying everything from cans of paint thinner to television sets, according to documents obtained by The Associated Press. The cost to clean up the mess is already twice what state officials first estimated and growing.
State Department of Administration officials say the company contracted to clean up the garbage has submitted $37,000 in bills, with more likely to come. That's more than double the $18,000 the state Department of Veterans Affairs estimated the effort would cost. Meanwhile, veterans are seething that a state worker would disgrace a cemetery that federal officials have designated as a national shrine.

But Samuelson's neighbor, Fernando Perez, said he told the cops several times that Ozzy was roaming in the back.
When the security alarm system at the home went off, Samuelson called Perez to check it out while she made the 20-minute drive to her house, he said. Perez said he knew not to go into the backyard because of the dog and when officers arrived, he warned them.
"'Be careful. It’s a big dog,' I told them. They told me to go back to my house," said Perez, who repeated the warning several more times. "Before I get to my driveway, I hear the two shots. They walked into the backyard with the guns in their hand. Then they ran from the backyard like they were scared or something."
Samuelson said she got Ozzy to protect the house and deter thieves. Police have not said what triggered the alarm.
"He was our protector," Samuelson said. "He’s a huge part of our family."

Prior to the bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993, and while he was working in security for Dean Witter, he had approached the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey about security vulnerabilities in the WTC's garage. He was told to focus only on his companies' floors, according to biographer James Stewart. He did that. But, along with Dan Hill, a military buddy of his, he didn't stop thinking about security weaknesses and terrorism.
After a company merger in 1997, Rescorla became director of security at Morgan Stanley, where he maintained vigilant attention to the firm's -- and the building's -- safety. Despite disruption at the busy brokerage firm, he insisted on holding twice-yearly evacuation drills by the stairwell for the firm's 22 floors in the south tower.
The result: On Sept. 11, 2001, his team was ready...................

Hacked NBC News Twitter feed announces fake Ground Zero attack: A hacker group broke into the NBC News Twitter account Friday, sending a series of tweets about a terror attack on Ground Zero to the news outlet’s 129,000 followers.
“Flight 4782 is not responding, suspected hijacking. One plane just hit Ground Zero site at 5:47. #groundzeroattacked,” the account wrote.
“This is not a joke, Ground Zero has just been attacked,” the account tweeted. “We’re attempting to get reporters on the scene.”
No such terror attack happened at Ground Zero in Manhattan Friday evening. A group calling themselves “The Script Kiddies” claimed responsibility for the hack, advertising its own Twitter account, which was suspended immediately after the incident.

I just finished reading Rules for Radicals by Saul D. Alinsky earlier this week, and it was one of the most unpleasant books I have ever read. I also think it was one of the most immoral books as well.
I had two people (my brother and a friend) who suggested that I read C.S. Lewis’s The Screwtape Letters, so that has been on my list for a little while now.
As it stands, it was the next book I picked up after Rules for Radicals. I am stunned by the happenstance that led me to read The Screwtape Letters directly after Alinsky’s book.

It was obvious even in the chaos of that moment what they were up there looking for and what they were prepared to do if circumstances warranted. What wasn’t obvious — what we didn’t know until today, I believe — was that the jets at Andrews AFB had to scramble so quickly that the pilots didn’t have time to arm themselves before taking off. They couldn’t have shot down Flight 93 or any other hijacked plane even if they had wanted to.

It was demonstrated yesterday to “Members of the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate along with their staffs; with MUST, law enforcement agencies can quickly set up a mobile surveillance tower for emergency response, crowd control, or general surveillance,” reports Homeland Security Newswire.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Friday morning lashed out at Tea Party Republicans' "radical agenda" and called on moderates to join in passing President Obama's newly introduced jobs plan.
"I urge reasonable Republicans to resist the voices of the Tea Party and others who would oppose this legislation and [instead] root for our economy," said Reid.
"It is sad that they do," added Reid, speaking of the Tea Party's opposition to the plan. "They do it for political reasons."
Reid then implied that the far right in Congress is working to dampen the nation's economy in order to increase their chances in the 2012 presidential election.
"We must not continue to bow to the Tea Party Republicans willing to do anything to hurt the president," continued Reid. "[We] cannot allow their radical agenda to crowd out America's jobs agenda."
President Obama on Thursday night introduced a $447 billion jobs plan that Reid said he hopes to take up in the Senate next week........................

Here we go again. Anyone surprised? The Boston Globe's Maria Sacchetti reports: Officials released President Obama's uncle from Plymouth County jail yesterday after holding him for more than two weeks on an immigration detainer for violating an order to return to his native Kenya in 1992.
US officials refused to disclose any other information about Onyango Obama, who remained in the United States undetected until Framingham police arrested him Aug. 24 on drunken driving and other charges.

With his country on the brink of financial collapse and in desperate need of a leader, his wife Michelle arranges for her husband to see an eccentric speech therapist named T. Elle Prompter.
While the president’s advisors Geithner and Buffet advise him that taxing is no problem since neither pay their own taxes. At the same time Pelosi tells him spending was never a problem for her, she even spent over $25,000 on flowers alone of taxpayer money.

Did anyone else notice that the President did not shake hands with the Speaker?
Did anyone else notice that the President did not shake hands with the Speaker?: At the end of the speech yesterday, Mr. Obama turned back and shook hands with the vice president and then to the people on his left. Mr. Speaker was clapping his hands all this time and the President it seems did not even acknowlede the Speaker of the House and walked away from the podium.
