The lack of demand for the Chevy Volt is not a well kept secret. The all-electric Nissan Leaf outsold the Volt by a margin of over 4-1 as it appears that GM overestimated the importance of curing "range anxiety." Reports are surfacing that confirm the fact that the Volt is not going over well with the average consumer . This has not influenced the tone of GM's rhetoric. It seems that the philosophy of the leaders at GM is to fool the majority of Americans, which are not paying attention, into believing that the Chevy Volt is a huge success.
If they can do this, friends at the Obama Administration can benefit politically and taxpayer funds can continue to be used to produce so-called green vehicles. The situation would be laughable if billions of taxpayer dollars were not being wasted to support an unwanted, over-priced vehicle that has no measurable benefit to the environment or foreign fuel dependence.................

During the 1936 election, Republican nominee Alf Landon called Social Security "unjust, unworkable, stupidly drafted and wastefully financed." Now, according to Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Social Security is a "Ponzi scheme" that tells young workers a "monstrous lie." It is a "failure" that "we have been forced to accept for more than 70 years now."
It is true that Barry Goldwater, during the 1964 campaign, said, "I think Social Security ought to be voluntary." But when his rival Nelson Rockefeller claimed this would be a "personal disaster to millions of senior citizens," Mr. Conservative backed down. This week, Ontario’s McGuinty government (which likes to brag that Ontario is Canada’s greenest province) showered Magna International with nearly $50-million to develop new electric vehicle technologies. Magna, which is rolling in dough, admits it doesn’t need the money. But in a world where capital and jobs are mobile, such gratuities are expected.
Dalton McGuinty is a true believer in electric cars. He hopes that, by 2020, 5 per cent of the vehicles on Ontario’s roads will be electric. That’s why he’s also plowing money into charging stations and battery technologies.
There’s just one problem. The fantasy that electric cars are right around the corner doesn’t survive even the most cursory reality check. As Dennis DesRosiers, a leading auto consultant, points out, consumers simply won’t pay a $20,000 premium for a vehicle that doesn’t go very far, isn’t very convenient, and runs out of juice as soon as you turn on the air conditioner.
Consider hybrids. After a decade on the market, they’ve captured only 3 per cent of sales. To get to Mr. McGuinty’s 2020 target, green-minded Ontarians would have to buy at least 100,000 electric cars a year every year, starting...

Only One Reason for Joint Session--Resignation
The request by President Obama to speak to a joint session of Congress simply to give a speech on the economy seems inappropriate and unprecedented. But is that what he really wants to achieve?
I think that he will actually offer his resignation to save the country from deteriorating further since he took office. It will be his grand gesture...his martyrdom...that will allow him to avoid a bitter defeat in 2012.
If you don't think this is true, then spread the word of this idea, and maybe it will take hold!....................

When the President publicly ordered the leaders of the House and the Senate to appear at the White House the next day, prepared to answer his demands for a debt ceiling resolution, many observers noted the high-handedness of his way of dealing with the coordinate and equal branches of government. He showed no respect for their constitutional independence.
Now, though, matters have taken a turn distinctly for the worse.
The President has commanded that they make the floors of the legislative houses available to him at a specific time and date without first clearing it with them. Worse, he did so by way of a public announcement rather than a private discussion. He acted, that is, not as president and commander-in-chief but as a royal authority.

Asked about his recent comments regarding how authorities in the United States were “setting the stage for violence in this country,” Presidential candidate Ron Paul elaborated on how the federal government was preparing for a “breakdown in law and order.”
“They’re planning for any provision,” Paul told the Alex Jones Show, adding that the federal government is very much aware of history.
“You can have a breakdown of law and order so the people will unfortunately be begging for stabilization, and they’ll be inviting the federal government to come in and destabilize things, so I think they’re making plans along those lines,” said the Texas Congressman.
Responding to a question about whether such preparations were about a power grab on behalf of the federal government, Paul responded, “That’s their goal, it’s all about power.”
When pressed who the “they” were, Paul named the Federal Emergency Management Agency, who have come in for harsh criticism from the Congressman in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene.

In a Category 4 torrent of official communications during the approach and aftermath of Hurricane Irene, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has repeatedly used the phrase “federal family” when describing the Obama administration’s response to the storm.
“Under the direction of President Obama and Secretary Janet Napolitano, the entire federal family is leaning forward to support our state, tribal and territorial partners along the East Coast,” a FEMA news release declared Friday as Irene churned toward landfall.
The G-word — “government” — has been nearly banished, with FEMA instead referring to federal, state and local “partners” as well as “offices” and “personnel.”

President Barack Obama is the Town Crier of the Internet. His message, like the one sent to millions last night, subject line “Frustrated” arrives on your PC in the middle of the night.
With shades of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Obama is going to Congress.
And if plebes didn’t know any better, they would think that
Obama had been spending all of his time trying to put Americans back to work instead of frittering away the lion’s share of his time vacationing and golfing between working at the fundamental Transformation of America.

Slovenes, Croats, Bosnians (virtually all Muslim), and Albanians (largely Muslim) will battle Serbs. Croats and Bosnians will unite to battle them — then fight each other as well — then unite again; and Albanians will take up the sword against Macedonians.
Muslims will burn churches, and minority populations will be purged from many of these regions.
They are the first conflicts since WWII to be formerly deemed genocidal, and these wars will introduce English-speakers to a new term: ethnic cleansing.

During the planned demolition of the Keystone Towers – a building erected in 1974 that was imploded this week – the man climbed up on a stage near the site and bellowed as the towers crumbled: “9/11 is right in front of you! 9/11 was an inside job!”

Despite the mass hoax still being promulgated by both the mainstream media and local authorities across America, the First Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that it is not illegal for citizens to videotape police officers when they are on public duty.
“The filming of government officials while on duty is protected by the First Amendment, said the Court,” reports Daily Tech.
“The filming of government officials engaged in their duties in a public place, including police officers performing their responsibilities, fits comfortably within these principles [of protected First Amendment activity].,” said the Court. “Gathering information about government officials in a form that can readily be disseminated to others serves a cardinal First Amendment interest in protecting and promoting the free discussion of governmental affairs,” stated the ruling, adding that this has been the case all along, and that the right to film police officers is not just restricted to the press.
The case cited several examples where citizens were arrested for documenting acts of police brutality on recording devices, including that of Simon Glik, who was arrested after he filmed Boston police punching a man on the Boston Common.
Another case involved Khaliah Fitchette, a teenager who filmed police aggressively removing a man from a bus in Newark. Fitchette was arrested and detained for two hours before police deleted the video from her cellphone.
The court ruling also made it clear that bloggers who report news ba
sed on their recordings of police have equal protection under the law as journalists.

Less than 12 hours after announcing that President Obama would deliver his much anticipated jobs speech on Sept. 7 — the same day and time of a previously scheduled Republican presidential debate in California — the White House changed course, shifting the speech to Sept. 8.

Police may stop people on the street in what is known as a "consensual" encounter for no reason at all. Police could potentially ask you for a face (or iris) scan during this "consensual" encounter. If you reasonably think you are free to leave you can ignore everything the police are saying and just walk away. (Florida v. Royer; Michigan v. Chesternut). If you aren't sure, or you just want to be polite, one of the best things you can say is "am I free to leave or am I being detained?"
Stopping the encounter as soon as possible before a scan of your face can be required is the best way to prevent a facial scan. If you aren't free to go, you are being detained....................

My point is simple: every Establishment rules in terms of lies, spin, and cover-ups. Most of the citizenry is vaguely aware of the lies and the spin on this or that minor matter, but voters side with the regime on the big lies. To do otherwise is to call into question their own wisdom. It is to admit that you were successfully taken in on some major matter – you and millions of others. This undermines the religion of democracy. It means that republican patriotism is based on widespread gullibility. "Fool me once, shame on the government. Fool me 20 times, shame on me." So, once the masses have adopted the Official Party Line, to abandon it means abandoning your old self and your old world of political legitimacy. I was working on my computer this afternoon and then internet went down. Checked my TV and no cable at all so I simply went through all channels and then I ended up on CSpan2. Pat Caddell was speaking (event happened on July 30, 2011). Certainly did not mean to listen but then for may be 2 minutes I did something else while the sound was still on. WOW...I suddenly found myself listening really seriously to Pat Caddell - could not believe my ears. I mean, that guy would have been at a Tea Party rally he would have won the day - for sure.
Of course he talked about Carter for 1 minute, he insisted that he was still a democrat, but of the old guard democrat.
Honestly, everything that guy said was..fantastic!!!
